CONSUMER INFORMATON SPECIALIST:
Salary Grade: 8 ($ 14.15 to $ 19.81 per hour)
Hours: 32 per week
Location: Damariscotta, Maine
Spectrum Generations has a wonderful opportunity for an individual to provide information to facilitate independent living for older and disabled adults and their families. If at the end of the day you want to feel that you have helped make the lives of consumers better, then this is the job for you. The Consumer Information Specialist provides information, assistance and options counseling to older and disabled adults and caregivers. They also advocate on behalf of those needing special support, maintaining an up-to-date library of community resources.
Job Requirements:
- The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of benefits programs, housing, social services and other resources available to the aging and disabled population.
- Prior knowledge and experience with Medicare, MaineCare and benefits programs preferred.
Education Required by the Position:
- BS in Social Services, Gerontology or health related field.
- LSW, or ability to obtain conditional license required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Certified Information and Referral Specialist - Aging preferred.
- Passing score on Spectrum Generations Level II computer test (e-mail, basic Word, navigation of web for research, and entry into preset Excel spreadsheet).

CRMA ACTIVITY AIDE ADULT DAY BREAK:
Salary Grade: 3 ($8.78 to $11.41 per hour)
Hours: 30 per week
Location: Waterville, Maine
Purpose:
We are looking for a caring individual to work in our Adult DayBreak Program. Responsibilities include planning therapeutic activities and assisting adult consumers.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
- Some knowledge of the general nature of physical and cognitive disabilities or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to work with disorientated, confused or otherwise handicapped consumers.
- Some knowledge of individual and group behavior and effective ways of working with older adults.
- Some knowledge of methods and practices of activity therapy as applied to adults with physical and cognitive disabilities.
- Some knowledge of various types of manual arts, crafts, music, games, activity materials and equipment.
Education Required by the Position:
- High School graduate
- 1-2 years of experience working as a CRMA and participating in an activity program with frail and disabled adults.
- Possession of valid 40 hour CRMA certificate.
- DSP (Direct Support Professional) Certification
- CPR Certificate preferred.
- Passing score on Level II computer test (e-mail, basic Word, basic navigation of web for research, and entry into preset Excel spreadsheet.)

FOOD SERVICE WORKER/DISHWASHER:
Salary Grade: 3 ($8.78 to $11.41 per hour)
Hours: 25 per week
Location: Hallowell, Maine
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the position is to assist with the clean-up and sanitation related to meals served in the Meals on Wheels (MOW) and Congregate Dining Programs provided by the Cohen Community Center. The incumbent will also be responsible for washing all dishes, following safety and sanitation procedures.
There is a possibility of up to 15 hours per week, on a per diem basis, in the Catering Program.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to make sound decisions, act resourcefully and solve problems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of staff, consumers and customers.
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to operate a variety of kitchen equipment, including commercial dishwasher and kitchen utensils.
- Working knowledge of housekeeping; methods, techniques in cleaning and sanitizing, materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of the use and possible hazards of chemical cleaning agents as related to environmental sanitation and safety practices.
- Ability to operate commercial dishwasher.
- Ability to apply sanitation standards and safety practices.
- Serve-Safe Certification preferred, but not required.
Education Required by the Position:
- High School graduate or G.E.D.
- One years experience dishwashing and waiting on tables. Experience assisting in the preparation of food desired.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, twisting, turning, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) such as pots and trash and trays of food; dexterity and the ability to feel and/or operate objects, tools, or controls.

NUTRITION/ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR:
Salary Grade: 6 ($ 11.69 to $16.37 per hour)
Hours: 25 per week
Location: Belfast, Maine
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the position is to provide the day-to-day coordination of the Meals on Wheels (MOW) nutrition program currently providing meals to approximately 60 homebound adults and to give important referral information for other community resources as needed.
The Coordinator is expected to develop an effective team of volunteers, and local community members. The Coordinator is responsible for tracking of revenue and expenditures in the designated program.
Knowledge Required by the Position:
- Knowledge and skill in applying, a standardized body of rules, procedures, and operations concerning MOW operations sufficient to explain general provisions to consumers and orient volunteers.
- Knowledge of basic arithmetic, spelling and grammar.
- Ability to self-direct daily work.
- Skill communicating orally with a variety of people, answering questions, and gathering/ exchanging information.
- Ability to make presentations to small and large groups.
- Ability to enter data accurately and expeditiously into electronic data base skill collecting
and organizing information or data and preparing reports.
Education Required by the Position:
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
